Advocating for clubs, associations and federations to become involved in financial literacy training, Spyros Neofytidis , Board Member – FIFPro Division Europe and President – PANCYPRIAN FOOTBALLERS ASSOCIATION (PA.S.P)underscored the importance of getting the youth engaged early on. In his on-camera interview in the beautiful country of Cyprus for “Beyond the Game”, Mr. Neofytidis (pictured on the left in the photo above) emphasized the stats of those who will actually turn pro and the need for student athletes to prepare for careers outside of the game as diligently as they train physically for their sport. Additionally, he urged that the organizations attached to the professional athletes become more interested in protecting the long term investment of their athletes rather than looking at their short term value and disposability.
