With a promise he made to fellow player, Ernie Davis, Floyd Little kept his promise to give back and has done so relentlessly. This NFL Hall of Famer and Syracuse University alum, rather than enjoying a leisurely retirement, has mentored the women’s basketball team, given one on one counseling to countless student athletes and been a tireless ambassador of community service. I also interviewed the athletic director and those associated with the Life Skills program at Syracuse University and was duly impressed with their commitment to develop students who will graduate with skills they’ll use for 40 years after.
